GDPR and employees

Tracking vans, tools and attendance – lawfully and properly

Recording employees is allowed when there is a legitimate purpose and they are informed in advance. Here are the key rules – and how IFAPP helps.

  • Data in the EU
  • Presence at your trackers only

The key rules

Legitimate purpose. The purpose must be clear, for example time registration, protecting tools or planning. Data may not be used for other purposes than employees were told about.

Information in advance. Employees must be informed before recording starts: what is recorded, why and for how long it is kept.

Notice. In Denmark, companies covered by the agreement on control measures must give at least six weeks’ notice of new control measures.

Proportionality and retention. Do not record more than necessary, and delete data when it is no longer needed.

How IFAPP is built

Only at your trackers

Worker tags are recorded only near a tracker in your vans or on your sites – not in free time.

Permissions per user

Decide exactly who may see what: objects, zones, users, statistics and reports.

Data in the EU
